SARTS Meeting Apr 2014

This month’s meeting was held at the usual QTH on 24 Apr 2014. It had been raining on and off through the day and the president remarked that this was perhaps the reason for the poor turnout.

Nonetheless, by 1945 hrs, the room was filled with the sound of laughter and discussion. There was also a group outside at the poolside.

There are usually a few foreign hams visiting, and tonight was no exception.

Here you see OM Frank 9V1OK having an animated discussion with second time visitor and young aspiring ham Royce Ng, who had just completed his RAE.

Postscript 11 May:

Although some of these pictures may give the impression of a kind of riot in the meeting room…..

…. rest assured that it is all peaceful and in the spirit of ham radio 🙂

After the break, Siva 9V1SV and myself gave a talk entitled “Repeater Basics”. The choice of topic was apt, because at that meeting, we had a members vote regarding the revival of the Singapore repeater which has been out of service for about 2 years.

Many of those present pledged generously to cover the cost of the repeater equipment.

Well done, dear members!

73, and see you at the next meeting!
